U of F are suckers

September 14th 2008 00:22
Can we say Gatorades? Why do you think they are successful? Well, drowning players with their sports drink, they flaunt their product so well. So oranges grow in trees. I prefer Powerade. Anyone can mix water with flavoring to create a sports drink. Come on. What a ploy. Gators are dangerous in nature. And I'm not talking about the animal. Gator Nation? More like asshole nation. I can say this, as I know of a few Gators. Yeah. University of Freaks. Gators need to be hunted down for their actions. Boasting about winning won't give you any friends. You may think you're winning, but your only thinking of yourselves. Selfish University. Very, very selfish.

BCS is BS

September 14th 2008 00:08
Whoever makes up the BCS needs to realize the fairness they put on college teams. There are about 4 teams in the SEC that are in the top 25. Who's to say that conference is better? Nobody go to Florida. It's a swamp. I would argue that there is a conspiracy going on in the SEC when all the schools meet to discuss ways to find out which teams should help each other. This goes for every conference. The way the teams are chosen, it's likely the people of the BCS find ways to see if their predictions are correct when they schedule teams to allow them to compete at a point where everything falls into place. Teams knock teams out, but there are only the select few that make it big. Let's play fair.

Harvard Farvard

June 5th 2008 11:56
Prestigious, Harvard Harvard University, founded in 1636, is a class in itself. In 2006, only about 9% of those who applied were accepted. Ranked 2nd in U.S.News, retention rate for freshman is 98%, making it more difficult for transfer students. Even for most, there are those that did not graduate, but attended. Jacques Chirac attended summer school in 1953, the former President of France. The actors Matt Damon and Jonathon Taylor Thomas both attended Harvard. For those that were lucky enough to graduate, some of those were John Quincy Adams, Tatyana Ali, K. Jack Bauer, George W. Bush, T.S. Eliot, Tommy Lee Jones, John F. Kennedy, Henry Kissinger, Conan O'Brien, Bill O'Reilly, Natalie Portman, Jay Rockefeller, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, and Mira Sorvino. Harvard's alumni giving rate is at 41% from 2006. 98% of students actually graduate from 2006. SAT scores between 25% and 75% were 1390-1590. Harvard is not for everybody, though. It's Law School and Medical school are both highly ranked. Expect to pay $30, 275 in tuition. Popular majors are Economics, Political Science, and Psychology. Located in Cambridge, MA. The Harvard Crimson sports teams offer many types of sports for men and women, they compete in a division called the Ivy League, winning 138 national team championships. Some fight songs are "Ten Thousand Men of Harvard," "Harvardiana," and "Just a Piccolo for Yale." Harvard offers many schools, especially an Extension School where you can earn an Associates degree and Bachelors degree online in both Liberal Arts with some on-campus work. You are still a part of Harvard, joining an alumni associate after graduation. The libraries are only for current faculty, students, staff, and researchers who hold a valid Harvard ID. Alums have some privileges. Research is an important mechanism to drive universities into prosperity. Harvard has numerous programs: Division on Addictions, Center for Business and Government, Center for International Development at Harvard University, Civil Rights Project, Program on Corporate Governance, Cyclotron Laboratory, Center for Design Informatics, European Law Research Center, Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard Medical School-Partners Health-care Center for Genetics and Genomics, Bauer Center for Genomics Research, Global Environmental Assessment Project, Harvard Immigration Projects, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Center for Mental Health and Media, Micro-Development Initiative, Mind/Brain/Behavior Initiative, Harvard Center for Neurodegeneration and Repair, Educational Resource Center for Occupational Safety and Health, Projects in Language Development, Harvard Institute of Proteomics, Center for Quality of Care Research and Education, Remittances and Migration Program, Davis Center for Russian Studies, Division of Sleep Medicine, Visions of Governance for the 21st Century, and W.E.B. Du Bois Institute. The arts plays a vital role in the bubble of Harvard University. WHRB is a popular radio station, "Harvard Radio Broadcasting," 95.3FM. Best known for inventing the musical Orgy, marathon-style musical programs devoted to single composers, performers, genres, and subjects. The New York Times calls them "idealistic and interesting." Many exciting things going on in campus. So what is a Harvard degree really worth? Well, according to Forbes magazine, Harvard students have a greater chance of becoming billionaires than any other college graduates. Remember the prank that Yale students pulled on Harvardianans? Well, if not, then this is what happened. 2 Yale students, created a plan called the "Harvard Pep Squad." They and 20 classmates gave out white and crimson placards to fans in the central side of the Harvard stadium. The group told the crowd that by lifting up the placards they would spell "GO HARVARD." Instead, the placards were arranged to spell "WE SUCK." God knows if Harvard ever or will ever get back at those Yalies for this terrible prank. Harvard Schmarvard, it's a recognized name. But does name recognition really matter? I mean, there are really good colleges out there that could compare to what Harvard has, or doesn't have. Many universities produce many graduates that become very successful, even as successful as the majority of Harvard students. What is looked for when selecting a college? Well, research and technological campuses are highly regarded. You have to be able to move on campus and be efficient in the classroom and in the dorm. Easy classes or tough classes? Well, almost 3,000 courses are taught at Harvard and there are classes taught by graduate students. But aside from that, there are professors that have PhDs and there are also Nobel laureates looming around. There are many reasons why Harvard is top ranked. Reputation plays a key role, as well as output among faculty, students, and alumni. Harvard is a private university, and most of the highly ranked universities are those that are private. The norm today, if you are a Harvard student or graduate, then you are very intelligent. How many of these roam blogs? Well, learning more about this university can be a time consumer, and anyone interested in attending should apply early and hope that you receive one of those thick envelopes in your mailbox.

So, in the news, there were Harvard students protesting the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy of the military in Portland, Maine at a recruiting facility. 4 students were arrested for not cooperating after police asked them to leave the premises. One of the students tried to enlist as an openly gay male, but was denied by its policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Some of the officials they had talked to showed sympathy for their cause. Some say they should voice their disenchantment on lawmakers, not on law officials. The four students were released on bail, and they will appear in court sometime in July.

So after the efforts of these students, should this policy be the blame for their incarceration? I mean, what does the policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" mean? Straightforwardly, for what it says, it means that when you are gay, you cannot reveal to anyone that you are, and nobody cannot ask if you are gay. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being gay? That you must not come out? Already, it is a sign that this country is not ready to face the reality of the gay individual. If there are any closeted gays still in the military, how will they be able to be open about it? Also, how will they be able to leave the military knowing that they have to come out afterwards, eventually
